I am not Anna

Who knows what is the meaning of corruption as a kid!!...I wasn't an exception too... We have been taught of pre-independence wars, struggle for independence, ancient human history, invention of wheel and all such things. But it's so sad that we haven't been taught anything of corruption or its exact and true history...we don't know whether it was a subject of Social Studies or General Sciences, we don't know whether it was invented or discovered...or it may be that I missed out on its classes.

But as they say..."Life is a good teacher"....and it really taught me all the cool things.....and ofcourse about corruption too...It was the first time I actually went to a government office...(yeah yeah....shut up...I know you guessed it :P). I went to pension office with my granny for the yearly checkup in person. The procedure is that they see the pensioner in-person, check all the documents (to keep track of the alive pensioners) and sign the declaration.

So it happened that after sitting, standing and sleeping on the chair for almost 3 hours, the attender called me and she said they are searching for the documents. Meanwhile she would like to have some tea...and asked for money for the same :O...

I felt a lil awkward...but the great Hari took out a five rupee coin and kept it in her hand....(shut up guys...don't laugh x( ...). She immediately stared at me top to bottom...slammed the coin back to my face....muttered all the "sanskrit" words.... She almost screamed and asked for Rs. 100/-...so much so that I thought I stepped on her foot.

And the rest was history....it was my "Welcome to India" (from RDB) moment....or infact "Welcome to the world" moment.....

Ooh yeah...BTW....tomorrow is Teacher's Day....Happy Teacher' Day.....to my life and all my teachers :)

An encounter with.......

It all started when I was a kid. I was probably in 1st or 2nd class (grade).I was asked to fill up some application form (for the first time in my life). Then the deadly question came......

Religion:__________________

At that age I didn't know what it meant. I asked the attendant what it meant. He said to fill in my religion and I turned to my dad to know what it meant. He said to fill in 'ABCXYZMNOPQ' as my religion.I filled it and asked dad that what are the other options. He named a few and again I came up with another question.
 "What's the difference?"

He said its dependent on the God they worship. But, till then, I was taught that there was only one God. I was taught that God was universal by my granny, by my teachers in  KG. I inquired about the same. He didn't have an answer. So with an unsatisfactory explanation to myself (which I don't remember now) I filled the form and remembered my "Religion" for future use.

Nothing changed except for the state of my mind. I was in a state of confusion.

Few months later, I went to the school clinic for I was hit by a stone and I was bleeding. The compounder at the place, while dressing my wound with a bandage, asked whether I was of "XYZ" caste. Not knowing what does it mean and what to answer, I said yes. He then smiled and said he too is of the same caste. "So what?? Are you bleeding too??" I retorted. His smile turned to a smirk.

People say that you'll learn a lot as you grow. You grow wise as you grow old. But what grew all the while inside me was confusion. I surely knew about God in my KG days. But as I grew up, I think I am more confused than ever. At times, I doubt if He exists.

Today all I know about religion is that its a wonderful tool to kill each other in the world. All I know about caste is that its a weapon during election campaign and providing unnecessary reservation in every walk of life.

I now have these answers about caste and religion, but I wonder if I was ignorant back then or am ignorant right now!!

So I went to God and asked Him "They say that you know everything about every form, living or non-living, in the universe. Do you know what a religion is?"
God: (smiled)
Me: "Was it you who created all the castes and the so called varnas?"
God: (smiled)
Me: "They say you know the past present and future of everything and everyone. Is it true?"
God: (smiled)
Me: "If yes, then you should have known that we would kill each other in the name of religion. Then why did you create religion, why did you create caste? Infact, why did you create us?"
Atlast I heard Him speak.
God: "I maybe an illusion. I maybe a perception. I maybe a reality. But, it shouldn't bother you. All I want you to know is that the answers you seek are within you. So, search within yourself."

And then everthing began to fade. He was smiling again. He became bright. So bright and white that my eyes started burning. I was about to scream. Just then, I opened my eyes and found myself on bed :(

10th class అయిపోయినప్పుడు 

నేను: దేవుడా, IIT lo...atleast O.U. లో నేను engineering చేయాలి.

దేవుడు: ప్రస్తుతం financial crisis ఉంది. Government college లో intermediate complete చెయ్యి. (Engineering idea drop :( )

నేను: దేవుడా, మంచి university లో seat ఇప్పించు దేవుడా....

దేవుడు: Reservations వున్నాయి బే. గల్లి లో ఏదో ఒక కుఫ్లీ college లో join అయిపో.

నేను: దేవుడా, పెద్ద MNC లో job ఇప్పించు దేవుడా...

దేవుడు:  ఛల్ బే, నీకు ఇంకా మస్త్ time ఉంది. ఏదో ఒక చిన్న company లో పని చెయ్యి.

నేను: దేవుడా....ఒక మంచి soul-mate కావాలి దేవుడా...

దేవుడు: పో బే....గీకితే kg కండ రాదు, నీకు ఎందుకు బే soul-mate...

నేను: దేవుడా..............

దేవుడు: నీ......................... (beep beep beep beeep beeep beeeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep)

Breaking News.....

New Delhi, Feb. 12 2012: Following the Intelligence Bureau and IT department reports, not even a single scam has surfaced the last week. The task force has been ordered for a probe into this issue. Insider reports claim that few officials have been arrested and are being investigated.

A senior police official said that they are taking the issue seriously and will not spare the responsible persons. IB officials have raided the houses of 50 officials yesterday and the raids are planned to take place all over India.

IB spokesperson says that all the big names, government and private officials and ministers are under scanner. They claim that they are tracing a link to foreign groups to the present situation.

Hyderabad, Feb. 12 2012: Senior Journalist Mr. A.K.Narayana (alias A.K. 47 Narayana in the media circles) proposes a rally against all the people invloved and demands a quick solution. Talking to our correspondent, he said "Whoever is involved and are the cause for present situation should be severely punished such that this wont repeat again. Those people know that we, the print and electronic media ,make our living solely on scams and reporting them by creating an interesting story is our main business. By not letting a single scam happen, these people have forced the media into losses. Senior politicians should take care of the present situation and save the media. I have trust in our constitution and hope that the guilty be punished severely. Until justice, I will go on indefinite half day hunger strike."

New Delhi, Feb. 12 2012: PPA spokesperson Mr.Manish Bimari called for an all party meeting saying that they should work together irrespective of their party, locality and community to get over the present situation. He said that if the present situation continues, Indian Politics will be in a grave situation where all the politicians forget all about a scam and the procedure to do a scam. He said that this situation is due to inexperienced and false moralled politicians who think scamming is bad. He further said that they are organising a training camp for all the fresh ploticians and wannabes. The training camp will be presided by Mrs. Tania Gandhi, Mr. L.K.Sindhwani, Lala Prasad Jadhav, Surya Babu Raidu, Y.S.Chandrashekhara Reddy and other senior politicians. The training will conclude with a hands on workshop on all kinds of scams. He said they will take care the present situation wont repeat again and promised that those found guilty of the present situation will be punished.
